Privacy policy for “Read Arabic in 30 Days”
Last updated: 20 October 2026
“Read Arabic in 30 Days” (“the app”) is made by Sasha.dev (“I”, “me”). This page explains what the app does with your information. The short version: the app keeps what it needs on your phone, and does not collect anything about you.
What stays on your phone
- Your progress. The app saves which lessons you have finished, where you stopped in a lesson, which words you marked “Not yet”, and your settings (such as the speed of the slow playback). This is saved on your phone only. I cannot see it.
- Your voice, if you choose to record. In some steps you can record yourself reading a word, to hear it next to the teacher’s voice. The recording is made on your phone and is used only to play it back to you. It is never uploaded or sent anywhere. The app keeps one recording at a time. It is deleted when you leave that step, or replaced when you record again, and any leftover is removed the next time the app starts.
- Your unlock. The first lessons are free. The rest are unlocked with one purchase (see “Payment” below). The app keeps only the fact that the unlock was bought, as confirmed by Google Play.
The app does not back up this information to the cloud, and it does not move to a new phone with Android’s backup. On a new phone you start with no progress. You can get your unlock back with “Restore purchase” in the app’s Settings, which asks Google Play.
What the app does not do
- It does not ask you to create an account or sign in.
- It does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, location or contacts.
- It does not show ads.
- It does not use analytics or tracking tools.
- It does not use a crash-reporting tool of its own.
- It does not send your recordings, progress or settings to me or to anyone else.
The microphone
The app asks for permission to use the microphone only when you tap to record yourself. You can say no. The app still works: you can listen to the teacher and move on without recording. You can change your choice at any time in your phone’s settings.
Payment
Some lessons are free. The remaining lessons are unlocked with one in-app purchase, paid once, made through Google Play Billing. There is no subscription, and you do not need an account with me. Google Play handles the whole payment. I never see or receive your card or bank details. Google may tell me that a purchase happened (for example an order number and whether it was completed or refunded), as it does for every Google Play app. If the learner is a child, a parent or guardian should approve the purchase. “Restore purchase” in Settings asks Google Play whether your Google account already bought the unlock; this needs an internet connection. Google’s own privacy policy explains how Google uses your information: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Information from Google Play
If you have chosen to share usage and diagnostic data with Google on your phone, Google Play may give me summary reports about crashes and performance, such as “the app stopped working on this type of phone”. These reports come from Google, not from the app, and I use them only to fix problems.
Children
The app is made for learners aged 9 and over, including children. It collects no personal information from anyone, so it collects none from children. A child’s progress and recordings stay on the device. They are never sent to me or to anyone else.
The microphone is optional. The app works without it, and a recording is used only to play it back on the same phone.
A parent or guardian is welcome to read this policy and to write to me with any question or concern (see Contact below). Purchases are handled by Google Play. Parents can use Google Play’s own family and purchase controls.
Deleting your information
Everything the app keeps is on your phone. Uninstalling the app deletes it. Inside the app, “Reset progress” in Settings clears your finished lessons and your place in the lessons. Because I hold none of your information, there is nothing for me to delete on my side. Your purchase record is held by Google Play, not by me.
Changes to this policy
If the app changes in a way that affects this policy (for example, if I ever add a crash-reporting tool), I will update this page and the date at the top before that version is released.
